Patricia Hecht tackles architecture and its link to identity in her solo MFA thesis show. Focusing on the immersive spaces we come in to contact with every day and repetition of these spaces Patricia creates these abstract pieces primarily sticking with black line on white substate with some that stray from this with additions of colors. Along with the 12 pieces hanging, she also activated the space they occupied with the same forms found in her pieces stretching from piece to piece and floor to ceiling. Her interest in the structure of the spaces we move in and out of on a daily bases, and how those spaces play a role on our identity is clearly well investigated, and the use of these appropriated blueprints and plans is done so in a way that successfully engages with the viewer forcing them to consider and question these structures and spaces.
