Spaces is a series in which Lane explores shape relations and the concept of cognitive dissonance. By taking shapes and forms from everyday items and places and simplifying them to create a composition, Lane is playing with the viewer's memories and preconceptions, "We all know what a polaroid looks like or a window in perspective and I'm interested in abstracting these visual cues to allow the viewer to realize the perceptual games they're own minds play, and the fragility of reality, for this is truly sublime phenomenon."
